Do you adore Thai curries? Many of us love the curries that we find in restaurants all over the Bay Area, but it can be daunting to make a pot of curry from scratch. If you find yourself stumped by the aisles and aisles of spices at the Asian Market, this class is definitely for you.
Pim Techamuanvivit is a lifetime curry enthusiast and the namesake of the incredibly popular food blog, Chez Pim. Her expertise runs the whole culinary gamut; from pie dough to rabbit rillette, from marmalades to thai curries, you will be astonished at what this woman knows!
Learn the ins and outs of shopping for the essential ingredients and how to make curry paste from scratch. Pim will show you how to make authentic, delicious Thai curries with the very best ingredients, at the same time demystifying the spice cabinet. Learn how to tell good store-bought pastes from bad and the best places in the area to find what you need to make a great pot of curry from scratch. Pim will also teach you how to properly pair wine with a variety of curries, a challenging task for any home cook!

Her popular blog, Chez Pim, chronicles her globetrotting adventures –and misadventures- in the world of all things edible, from her own kitchen in Northern California, to the vibrant street-side fares in Asia, and the refined world of Three Michelin Star restaurants in Europe. Raised in a family of foodies in Bangkok, Pim comes from a diverse and wonderful culinary background. Pim's recipes, writings, and photography have appeared in the New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, and Bon Appetit magazine. What a great class! The best cooking class I've ever taken not only because the food was so damn good but because Pim demystified Thai curries with her straight forward, no nonsense, fear no failure approach. Thanks, Pim!
